Tomorrow.Building World Congress proposes the change towards to a better construction

Tomorrow.Building World Congress will hold its second edition from 5 to 7 November with the aim of contributing to transforming the construction activity into a more sustainable and efficient sector thanks to the use of new technologies. The event, which will form part of a new edition of the Smart City Expo World Congress, will be attended by leading companies in innovation and will debate the major challenges facing the sector with prominent national and international speakers.

Technology is transforming construction at an unprecedented pace. 3D printing, the Internet of Things (IoT), drones and virtual reality (VR), Building Information Modelling (BIM), Digital Twins and new materials are rapidly changing the way we build, from project planning to execution.

In this sense, under the slogan ‘Build better’, Tomorrow.Building World Congress will showcase new ideas, projects and construction systems that help to increase productivity, optimise resources, improve compliance with deadlines, increase the quality of projects and works, reduce the impact on the environment, and reduce costs.

So far, companies renowned for their innovative DNA, such as BIOO, Jacobs, New Murabba, Roshn and SPIE, among others, have already confirmed their participation and will showcase their latest developments to achieve a more circular, efficient and resilient construction.

The event also has the backing of international associations such as Build Up, the European Union’s official portal to promote energy efficiency in construction, or Women’s New European Bauhaus (WNEB), and national organisations such as the Spanish Construction Technology Platform (PTEC) and the Spanish Higher Council of Architects’ Associations (CSCAE), among others.

The director of Tomorrow.Building World Congress, Ione Ruete, pointed out that ‘until a few years ago, the construction sector was one of the most traditional and reluctant to innovate. Today it is in full transformation, in continuous development of innovations and in search of new solutions. Therefore, in this edition we want to catalyse this change and contribute to a new way of constructing buildings and cities where we can live better and more sustainably’.

    Decarbonisation and emerging innovation
The event has organised a congress programme in which leading national and international experts and speakers will debate and share experiences on the major challenges facing the sector: urban planning and landscaping, construction technology, design technology, decarbonised construction and the sustainable transformation of buildings.

In the same vein, it will give visibility to digital startups in the sector (ConTech) and real estate management (PropTech), in the Innovation Playground area.

Tomorrow.Building World Congress, together with Tomorrow.Mobility World Congress and Tomorrow.Blue Economy World Congress, is part of the Smart City Expo World Congress 2024, the world’s largest event on cities and urban innovation, which this year is expected to have more than 1,100 exhibitors and representatives from 850 cities and 140 countries.
